Miyagahama Swimming Area (宮ヶ浜水泳場)

Miyagahama Swimming Area is a swimming area located in Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture.

If there is sea, it should be called 'seashore' and 'swimming beach,' but, as it is Lake Biwa, it is called 'swimming area.'
In the period of 1977 through 1979, it was used as the site for Japan International Birdman Rally (Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation). It is a beach with the length of 400 meters approx. and selected as one of 88 best swimming areas in Japan. It is fully provided with stands and cafeterias. There are also a pool for children, campsite in the forest and an accommodation facility.
